The badger is a member of the mustelid family but is far bulkier. It has coarse fur ranging in colour from grey to yellow-brown and bears a distinctive white stripe running from its snout up across the skull. The badger bears a broad, flat body, short powerful legs and long, scythe-like claws.
The badger is active year-round. It digs its den in hillsides, wherein it stays for wintering and for raising its young.
The badger poses a real threat to the mice of the Territories. It is a tough and voracious predator. If one finds a mouse settlement, it will devastate it — tearing through the defenses and devouring the mice within.[1]
